Asmanex Twisthaler is a prescription inhaler used for the long-term control and prevention of asthma in adults and children of certain ages. It contains mometasone furoate, an inhaled corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and swelling in the airways. By controlling airway inflammation, it helps prevent asthma symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath.

Asmanex Twisthaler is a maintenance medication and should be used every day as prescribed, even when asthma symptoms are well controlled. It is not a rescue inhaler and should not be used to treat sudden asthma attacks. For sudden breathing problems, a fast-acting rescue inhaler should be used instead.

Regular use of Asmanex Twisthaler can improve lung function, reduce the frequency of asthma flare-ups, and help patients maintain better control of their condition. Use the Asmanex Twisthaler exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Remove the cap by twisting it counterclockwise, which automatically loads a dose. Breathe out fully away from the inhaler, place the mouthpiece between your lips, and inhale quickly and deeply through your mouth. Remove the inhaler and hold your breath for about 10 seconds or as long as comfortable before breathing out slowly. Replace the cap immediately after use to prepare the inhaler for the next dose.

Use the inhaler at the same time each day for the best results. After each dose, rinse your mouth with water and spit it out to help reduce the risk of oral thrush. Do not wash the inhaler or use it during a sudden asthma attack. If your breathing worsens or you need your rescue inhaler more often than usual, contact your healthcare provider promptly.
