What is Dayvigo
Dayvigo is a prescription sleep medicine that contains lemborexant. It belongs to a group of medicines called orexin receptor antagonists, which work by helping regulate the brain’s wake and sleep signals. Dayvigo is mainly used to treat insomnia, a condition where people have difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or getting enough restful sleep.
Dayvigo is usually taken before bedtime and should only be used as directed by a healthcare professional. Possible side effects include sleepiness, tiredness, dizziness, headache, and unusual dreams. It may affect alertness the next day, so caution is needed with driving or activities requiring focus. It should not be combined with alcohol or other sedatives unless advised by a doctor.
Dayvigo (lemborexant) should be used exactly as prescribed by a healthcare professional. It is usually taken once per night before bedtime when you are ready to sleep. Take it only when you have enough time available for a full night of sleep, as it may cause next-day drowsiness.
The tablet should be swallowed whole with water and should not be taken more than the recommended dose. Avoid taking Dayvigo with alcohol or other medicines that cause sleepiness unless your doctor advises you to do so. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully for the safest use.
Dayvigo may cause side effects such as sleepiness, dizziness, tiredness, or unusual dreams. If you experience confusion, unusual behavior, or severe reactions, contact a healthcare professional. Regular follow-up may be needed to check how well the treatment is working.
